When you browse
We collect general usage statistics: the pages visited, and technical details that come with any internet request, such as browser type, device and approximate country. We use them to understand what people read and to improve the site, not to identify you.
We keep a random identifier in your browser to count repeat visits, and a cookie to keep you signed in if you sign in. You can clear both from your browser settings at any time.
Your account and signing in
Signing in is optional. If you sign in with an account you hold with another service, we receive your name, email address and profile picture if there is one, and never your password. We use them only to identify your account on this site.
What you send us
When you send a message or a correction request, we keep what you wrote, and your name and email if you entered them. Name and email are optional and are never published.
Protection against abuse
Forms are checked automatically to stop spam and duplicate reviews, and that check may use your IP address and browser details.
Storage and sharing
Data is stored with service providers who run the site on our behalf, and only team members who need it for their work can access it.
We do not sell your data, show targeted advertising, or share it with data brokers. We share it only with the service providers who run the site, or where the law requires it.
Access and deletion
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or have your account deleted: write to us through the contact page.
When this policy changes, the last-updated date at the top of the page changes with it.
